We had the good fortune of connecting with Desire Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desire, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is “If you can believe it you can achieve it”. To me it helps me stay motivated knowing that I could do anything I put my mind to if I just stay focused.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a custom wig maker and I specialize in glueless wigs! I’m also an hairstylist that’s specializes in all things lace! I’m most proud of myself for building consistent clientele and making people feel like THAT GIRL when they leave my chair or receive a package from me. I got to where I am today because I’ve never been scared to take a risk, I moved to a new city by myself and it’s only gotten so much better, I’ve met amazing people along the way and feel that I made the right choice. It wasn’t easy being that I was getting out the military before I moved and they were unsure that I would be successful since I was leaving the army and now they see me and are so proud or shocked that I’m doing even better. Some lessons I’ve learned are to TAKE A BREAK when needed because burnout is real especially if you genuinely love what you do when it becomes a job it can sometimes start to feel like work instead of a passion so take a break and reset so you can give 100% each time in your business. My brand is very personal now I’ve recently changed my name to Desire Her Co because I want every girl that wears my wigs or ever sat in my chair to feel like HER. Wake up and be HER, whoever her might be to you. I want every girl to be themselves because someone out there is Desiring to be HER.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m still new myself to Houston Texas and it’s so big here some places I would take my friend to are:

I want to dedicate this shoutout to my DAY 1 clients from Killeen/Fort Hood Texas and my close friends Ricora Jones and Ambrosia Smith! Without them I wouldn’t be here today in my business. I want to give a thank you to business mentor when I started Jasx Aigner she’s amazing and always told me that gods timing is everything and that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be in life.
