We had the good fortune of connecting with Nurdah Bonnesse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nurdah, how do you think about risk?
I personally think taking a risk once in your life is really important. It can either be the best thing to happen or the worst but you’ll never know unless you take that risk.

I took a major risk by moving from south Africa to the United States, away from my family , friends and work.
I took the risk for myself , to challenge my independence and to find more opportunities

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Back home in south Africa , I worked in the film industry but I moved across the world to work as an au pair , inorder to travel and experience the American culture…

Making the choice to move wasn’t easy but it felt needed..

Staying in Atlanta and knowing its one of the top places for film , excites me and makes me want to stay here for good and grow in the industry

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As I myself just moved here 3 months ago I’m still trying to find the best spots.

But these are my ffavorites so far
To eat : escovitchez
To relax and enjoy the sun: piedmont mark
For creative breakthroughs and cute pictures , Atlanta beltine

I still need to find the hidden gems

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
