We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Cathell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For me, I always wanted to have creative control over any endeavor. With a degree in business management, I had the passion for being an entrepreneur. As a creative I knew I wanted to marry the passion of business and creativity together.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My love for design led me here. The content that I create is full of passion because each outfit visually excites me, from the shoe to the handbag. I love it all and hope to inspire that love in others. Any business you start from scratch will never be easy, and will come with its own specific set of roadblocks. If you want to own your own business you have to have a determined mindset.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
While I am a true homebody at heart, I love lunch at Le Bilboquet and frequently head to try out new spas in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up, I had two art teachers that inspired a love for the visual arts: Mrs. Erkman and Mrs. Yost. They introduced me to a world of creativity and encouraged me to explore that side. Along with these two amazing women, my parents continually gave me new opportunities to see and experience good design and culture. They made sure we traveled to see the world and view it from a creative vantage.
