We had the good fortune of connecting with LaShon Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaShon, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Getting into the streaming network industry takes a strong team that is fully vested. We are at a juncture where the industry has opened a flood gate for African Americans to get it not necessarily “right”, because that is a matter of perspective, but get our stories told better because it is our perspective without having to be approved by another culture. This is a large investment not just monetarily as important as that is, but mentally to carry the mantel of changing the trajectory of history as these platforms like CEPTV NETWORKS grow.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I just recently left my job as a general manager at a second tier retail concept. The money was decent but the duties of the job kept me way too tethered. I have recently changed jobs to something that I can control more schedule wise even though the title is less glorifying…it is safe to say that I am at that juncture where I am in a very humbling phase in building my platform because I realize that this is my dream and like a baby deserves more time and nurturing. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart. Sacrifices must be made. CEPTV NETWORKS is still in the process of being built into a most unique and diverse solutions based streaming network available.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I navigate between Columbus Ga and Atlanta so between the cities there is much to do. I am no expert on the Atlanta area per se because I go up mostly for production reasons, but if I had to lay out a week long itinerary it would go as follows Day 1 baby grand Grand Canyon or Providence park near warm spings Day 2 Ifly in Atlanta Day 3 white water rapids or zip line Day 4 hike stone mountain Day 5 Columbus riverwalk then the Salt Seller restaurant Day 6 Pine mountain butterfly planetarium Day 7 find a local bed and breakfast

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I  do want to name one in particular who has helped me beyond measure and her name is 10 Karat! I also want to dedicate this shoutout to my dot. Some people call their realm of friends that are the gems of their lives a circle. I have a dot small intimate but as genuine as they come. They know who they are and they are why I keep going even during times I want to give up. I love you all.
