We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Solomon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking the right risk for me has really helped out my career in art. You have to give up something to get something that you want or need. Risk is a good thing because it’s takes you out your comfort zone and pushes you to become to best version of yourself. I have took a lot of risk in my career. For example, doing different art show and taking on bigger projects. Taking risk is a number one reason I’m a full time freelance artist. I want to show my style and my point of view to everyone. The biggest role that taking risk has done for me is teach me to continue to evolve and never stay in your comfort zone for to long or it will kill you. Take a good risk today and watch how your life and mind will chance.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What set me apart from others is that I combine fine art and comic art together to show my favorite characters in a new light. I think about the art and the audience that will be happy to see it come to life. In my childhood I always in vision myself as my favorite characters so I add elements of myself to every character that I do.. I’m most pound of the fact that, I have traveled with my art and sold art in 6 different states. I got here professionally by going to school at AI and starting my freelance company. It was not easy, I had to learn and then unlearn a lot of things to be where I’m today. I overcome all my challenges by being humble and hungry to be an successful artist. I want the world to know that I have a lot of ideas to share to the world. Keep a look out for kingsolomon217
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The high museum of art in midtown is a must for anyone that comes to Atlanta to visit. Piedmont park to ride around and enjoy the weather. You have to go get something to eat at DaVinci’s pizza in midtown and check out some of my art on the walls, along with 2 other great artist. Get a drink and hang out at Monday night brewery . Come enjoy the vibes at a local art show going on around the city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give thanks to my family and everyone that has showed me love over the last 6 years. Everyone that told me to keep going and never give up on my dream. Everyone that ordered from me and commissioned me to do their projects. Thank you for being a part of my success.
