We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia George and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am originally from Moorestown, NJ but moved to Atlanta, GA in 2008 to attend thee Spelman College. I would say my roots are in New Jersey, but a great part of who I am has been cultivated in Georgia. My grandfather recently passed away and it caused me to take a deep dive into who I am and how I have developed into the person I am today. I would have to say that my parents are at the core of my success and my husband and children are at the core of my drive.

My grandfather was the grandson of a slave living in Wrightsville, GA. He moved to Philadelphia to escape the Jim Crow laws and worked in various positions until he was able to open his own Exxon gas station. His entrepreneurial spirit was infectious within my family and had a major influence on my father getting his MBA and opening his own investment brokerage. Growing up, I only witnessed entrepreneurship and the freedom/hard work that came with it. I always knew that I would be an entrepreneur and opening my law firm was largely influenced by my family’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Family is my driving force and it is evident in how I run my business. My agents are more than just clients, they are family. At Outlaw George & Associates, LLC, you know your business is valued and that the deal is going to be done in a professional and efficient manner.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Outlaw George & Associates, LLC, we continue to maintain excellent working relationships with all clients. We ensure to provide a smooth and efficient closing experience, while emphasizing wealth building in various properties to leverage the power of the dollar. I am most proud of the relationships that we have been able to build and maintain that has brought consistent business into the firm. It is exciting to witness the significant growth in clientele each month. We are looking to continue to nurture our current relationships, while cultivating new ones.

It was definitely not easy breaking into the Atlanta real estate scene. Real estate is an extremely personal field. The relationships that you build are a strong indicator of your success in this business. I have made it a point to treat people like family along my journey to entrepreneurship. People have to trust that you can get the job done, so they will feel confident enough to send you business. In the beginning, a large portion of my time was spent just building potential clients’ confidence in my ability to provide top tier service, Initially, I relied on the relationships that I already built prior to opening my own firm. Through these relationships, I was introduced to other agents that witnessed my abilities first hand. From that point, the firm began to grow organically.

I have learned to be extremely thorough in all of my practices. In this business, you encounter a wide range of issues that are like fires that must be put out. You have to be able to think quickly to resolve the issues presented to keep the deal alive.

I would like people to know that Outlaw George & Associates, LLC is a clear representation of what it means to beat the odds. Thriving in a field where only 2% of people look like me is a testament. With the right resources and support, anything is possible. I am making it my business to ensure that I am not the last of my kind to see success in this field.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am actually a big homebody and so are my friends. I spend most of my time at home with my family or at my children’s sporting events. My friends know that when they come into town, we will probably end up at a football game, track meet, or basketball game one way or another.

If we had energy after screaming at the sporting events, I would take them to visit somewhere fun like the Sugar Factory, Skyline Park, Punchbowl Social, or the BeltLine.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many people to attribute my success to, I honestly do not know where to begin. First, God has my back like no other. I know that I am blessed and highly favored. I would also be remiss if i did not mention my husband. He is the most supportive, comforting, protector and friend that I have. A great deal of the success that I have attained can be credited to his support. Finally, my parents and brothers are critical in my progression. My parents set me up for success very early on and continue to guide me through life as an adult. My brothers are also vital pieces to my puzzle.
