We had the good fortune of connecting with Aggie Lawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aggie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being my own boss was the only way I can go. No one cares about your well being than yourself. I worked for a this bakery during my pregnancy and realized they didn’t care for me at all!!! My pregnancy was kinda hard due to me having sickle cell and putting me under the high risk category. My job at the time didn’t take heed to my complications!!! Man they even restricted my bathroom breaks! Once I had my baby I realized that my little business needed to be more a priority than a option in my life… I took everything I had in savings and invested into myself and my brand. I haven’t looked back nor will I ever look back.! I can’t see me having any other boss besides myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Polished Figures started as a small business just selling waist trainer to a one stop beauty spot. I take the time to study and master each and every service I provide to give nothing but greatness. I’m addicted to results so if I see or know something better to achieve your POLISHED look I’ll voice my opinion. It took me many years to fully put my business on the forefront of my mind and give it my all. I didn’t give myself any other options and Polished Figures my only option to be great. It wasn’t easy at first and it was harder realizing not everyday is Christmas and learning that some days are better than others and not to give up cause My day didn’t go my way. I learned so many lessons but the number one lesson is to count myself twice as I will have my back better than one else. My brand my story I’m just a mother trying to make the next busy woman love and self appreciate themselves a little more! Cause we all are beautiful and perfection is not real but getting Polished is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I wish I knew more spots than I know. I’m a Jersey native that’s still learning these ATLANTA streets. So I may need to take some pointers from you guys and learn some hidden gems.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I want to big up my boys!!! They give me the drive to keep going! On the days that I would think is the worst they make sure I feel loved b doing the right thing. My man as he learning along the way with me.My instructor Neesh (@alluring.curves) she gave me all the encouragement I ever needed. She put that battery in my back that got me going full throttle.
