Meet Erymis Pittman | Entrepreneur/ Traveling Cosmetologist & Certified Lash Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erymis Pittman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erymis, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Typically, being nosy is looked down upon or even made into a joke. But being nosy has helped me get this far in my career. I like to pick people’s brain, see how they view the world. I find it fascinating to hear a person’s life story. “Where are you from? Tell me about your parents? What did they did teach you? What do you do for work? Do you love it? How did you get into that?” You start to create positive connections, which is a great way to network.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited about being able to grow in an industry that has really skyrocketed in the last 10+ years. I hope to use the beauty industry to explore other creative ideas that I have stored in my brain. It becomes difficult because for a long time I felt like I was in a box labeled “cosmetologist” and that was all I could do. But, I realized by having conversations with people and living in a hustling city like Atlanta, people have multiple career titles. That’s what being an entrepreneur is all about and I shouldn’t be afraid to step outside of that box, or build onto that box in order to become something greater.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I have a long list of restaurants to visit. I mainly know post pandemic Atlanta so I spent more time adding to the list versus checking places off. However, one of my favorite restaurants to visit is Tassilli’s Raw Reality Cafe. It’s black owned and operated, and the food is bomb! I would definitely say brunch on Sunday’s is a big this here in Atlanta, especially in the summer! I mean it’s basically a day party with food, and you can be home early and not be too tired for work the next day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my family who encouraged my creativity, the women giving life lessons in the salon, and my love who just lets me be me, thank you.
