We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Reid and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is one of the most important parts of life. To have ambition about being successful is what drives us to get out of bed in the morning and gives us the energy to be risky. Taking risks in my career is a normal attribute. I’ve had to go into the unknown of this business plenty of times, not knowing what would be the outcome. But that’s the risk, I was doing something I absolutely enjoyed and was willing to ride the wave of whatever it brought my way. I knew my vision and I couldn’t stop no matter what obstacles came my way. Plenty of people thought I was crazy because I wasn’t following the same traditional footsteps that my family has taken to be successful, But instead it was the road that no one was willing to take and for that my risk was rewarded.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a owner of the record label ( Chevi Muzic Universe) and a music producer who has had a lot of success with different artist. The top artist being Nicki Minaj. Currently our song “ Chun Li “ is 3x platinum and is one of her top songs on Apple Music, along with a few others. What sets me apart from other people in my field is the ability to not be content and look for more exciting things to do, and innovate the next sound. My artist Jamar Langley, and Morgin are direct results from that. My team is small but our dreams and visions are out of this universe!

Getting to where I’m at today was not easy. Hearing “ No” , getting laughed at because people didn’t understand my vision, all made me a stronger person. One of my baseball coaches always said “You have to put those blinders on that horses use in the race and focus on the goal.”

Doing that allowed me to focus on what I wanted to accomplish and not focus on what people were saying. That’s the biggest lesson I’ve learned and it still applies today.

Chevi Muzic is a culture not just a record label, we make timeless music and inspire millions around the world. Our mission is to continue to give good vibes and positive messages that will carry over to the next generation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well if my best friend came in town, let’s say in the spring

First stop would be Yardhouse, at Battery Park, chill there for a while enjoy the scene, then head over to Truist Park for a evening Braves Game!

Next day hit up Tasillis Raw Cafe and for lunch and for dinner order some Plant Based Pizzeria, and catch a Hawks Playoff Game at the Studio!

And I’m sure I will be busy so they could go to the mall and shop and go to the lake that everybody is scared of “ Lake Lanier” but it’s really peaceful and good vibes all around!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That person would undoubtedly be my Wife . Ever since I met her working in the dining halls of Georgia State University in 2012, she has been a light in my life and career. She believed in my vision and supported me until I got my first check, (Producing “Show The World” – Lil Boosie). When that day came I never looked back. Even at times when I wanted to get a job, she reassured me that I was going the right direction and that I needed to keep going, despite finances being slow. She definitely deserves the recognition.
