We had the good fortune of connecting with Landon DeVon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Landon, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Never give up. – and I only mean that in that in terms of not practicing insanity. (Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result) I found that over time things work and things don’t, and that’s ok. It’s really important to know your audience. Some things, ways, strategies won’t function the same in certain spaces because people are different everywhere. Overtime your connectivity with your art and its expression has to be an intuitive experience to make it matter, or stick, or worth while. Truly if you give up did you really want it to begin with? Did you evolve in your art? Do you love it? – is what that ultimately comes down to!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a intuitive tarot reader, reiki master, and spiritual advisor by day and a singer, songwriter, & recording artist by night! I add the non obvious sectors of art because sometimes people don’t know that just like the art of war, spiritual maintenance and care is too an art form. I think what sets me apart is spirit, mine. There can only be one you and you have to know your worth. Knowing what you bring to the table is important because when it’s not accepted you know that you’re at the wrong one and know how to move to another. This year I’m really looking forward to showering the world with amazing music and show the hard work I put in last year. 2021 was a seed planter year and 2022 I get to see how plentiful the crop is, and I know it’s going to be so wonderful! My latest album ‘Chakra 4’ is about to go thru a huge revamp whilst the new album I release this year is going to be so impactful. I’m saying things people don’t say, I’m releasing so much off my chest and as nervous as I am to be so transparent sonically, I know it’ll reach people who are like me and feel deeply.
It took me a while to finally get in this space of freedom and strength and I know I couldn’t do it without the channel my art created for me. A lot of the time I feel so unseen and so unheard by people who I thought did or do but when you press play on my music whoever is listening doesn’t have a choice. What makes it hard for me is watching people literally in that moment discover I’m multifaceted, multidimensional, and not a character. All versions of myself matter wether you know that exist or not. Music is the only way I can let out parts of me without alarming people. If you see me too gay (pan-sexual, a little more feminine than the average male) in your life it’s all you’re ever going to see. So when you hear me rap you just assume it’s somebody else, or I’m playing a part for somebody and I have so much distain toward that mindset. it shows me how much you don’t know about me or even your willingness to be aware because I’m making you aware. My hardest challenge is just making sure I keep myself grounded and remind myself that I am enough. My brand is me in whatever form I choose to show up in. The only thing I ask for is to let me be and let me do me. Either way I’m sure you’ll enjoy the show.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re one of my many best friends you’re a foodie and like to party. Monday we are for sure going to start the day cooking food and going to find somewhere to lounge with mimosas; it’s pretty standard ! Take a walk at the botanical garden, hit the high museum of art, Tiny doors, and I really want to go to the Michael C. Carlos Museum. I’ve never been either so it should be fun. Tuesday and Wednesday would be a day for food. Just good food that tastes like somebody auntie or grandma in the back seasoning the food. I’m sure if the music is good at the spot there’ll be drinks had but we holding out cause Thursday- Sunday afternoon before they catch their flight back we show them how to do that thang!

Thursday through Sunday we’re where ever the drinks are poured like it’s your uncle at open bar! (Shrugs in Midwestern)

“I endorse these strippers” so if of age I know that’s on pretty much everybody’s list at some point. Buckhead strip is always a go to. It’s eclectic and vibe when you just wanna be lit. There’s literally too many places to go that it would be hard to not find your vibe. It’s what I love about it!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friend, brother, morning coffee vent, partner in music, and Engineer Juan Martinez! A lot of what I do is because him and the time he takes out of his schedule religiously to get the work done. You don’t find too many people who are just as dedicated to the same thing that you too are dedicated to. I’ve been working with him for years now, with now two albums under the belt and counting. I have been able to grow WITH somebody and know we are about to make a huge impact. So shout out to the fam bam! We really are about to do some amazing things this year !
