We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Jstn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrian, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
My Entertainment career has taught me that you have to stick beside yourself. You have to be your own ride or die. At the end of the day nobody else is going to have you back like you will. Especially in this field, you have to demand your dreams. You have to set your own goals and you have to have the power to work towards them on your own. Because people can quit on you, people can give up on you. But you will not give up on yourself. You are only in competition with yourself. Nobody else is as unique as you are therefore there is no competition. Trust yourself and trust God.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others?
I am a superstar & a legend in the making. Nobody else in this world has the soul that I have for music. Music is more then just notes for me. Its about emotion, its about persuasion, its about love. Music is about life!

What you are most proud of or excited about?
I’m most proud of myself for pushing myself to start my podcast Sunglasses & Furs and being vulnerable about the struggle I face as a legend in the making. I’m also very proud to say that I performed in Carnegie Hall at the age of 14. I’m very excited about my journey as i travel through college and continue to be the performer I am. It’s going to be a challenge but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy?
I got here today because of all of the pain I’ve gone through. It has only make me work harder to. Pain & Heartache is often looked at as a negative thing & while it may feel negative and horrible. It was only created to make you stronger. Pain was only created to push you even further in your destiny. A lot of life is all about your perspective. It was very hard for me and its not over yet but you have to believe in yourself and believe in the plan that god has for your life.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
I’ve learned that my impact on the world will never go away. Even the smallest things can change lives. The songs I sing and the emotions I create for people will never disappear. The kindness that you give to strangers and people on the street it was changes the course of the world. Not electric cars.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want people to know that I perform because that is what saved my life time and time again. Being on stage and singing is what got me out of a lot of my depressive moments. Being a entertainer is what brings me joy when I go to sleep at night and when I wake up in the morning. I choose to do what makes me happy regardless of what people say and regardless of the sacrifices because life is about doing what bring you joy, and I have!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestfriend was in town we would stay at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and we would get breakfast at The Sugar Factory and have dinner at Juicy Crab. We would of course go shopping at the outlets, and the malls. I would show them where I grew up and take them on different Hotspots around town like the Atlanta Beltline & Little Five Points.

Some of the most interesting people in Atlanta are the housewives of course but my favorite is Nene Leakes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to Mary J. Blige whom is my favorite artist and my inspiration. Mary J. Blige is the reason I began singing and without her I probably would not be pursuing this career. I also want to thank my beautiful Grandma who has been my rock through everything. I Love You Gma!
