We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudy Milton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rudy, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?

One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou – “Develop the courage so that you can stand up for yourself and then stand up for somebody else.” I love this quote because I’ve had to rediscover and encourage myself. I know how it feels to be broken and healed through God. In rediscovering myself, I have found that the courage to stand, advocate, and serve others is my purpose. I am original and I will make my mark on the Earth. To me, this means I will transition to Glory as an empty vessel! I want to be ALL and do ALL that God has assigned me to be and do. I love fulfilling his assignments and it fills me with incredible joy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

InDOMitable Love Sympathy Cards was birthed by Heaven gaining my purpose. My only child was tragically murdered in 2015. During my time of grieving, I journaled. God spoke to me and I stayed obedient. I designed a sympathy greeting card. It was not easy. I didn’t know what it would look like. I just knew I had the words in my heart and from the experience of losing my only child. I overcame the challenges through my faith, therapy, and by not giving up, not allowing fear to stop me. I kept writing and sharing my vision, researching, and getting out of my own way. God’s purpose for me evolved and I learned how God wanted to use me for His Glory through the process of grieving. No one will understand or work harder for my purpose than ME. I want parents across the world to know how to love, protect, nurture, and be the best parent to their babies. Be present and don’t take a moment for granted.

The InDOMitable Love Card series makes it possible for you to express your deepest condolences to those who’ve suffered the loss of a loved one. Each card has been written with thoughts to express sympathy and empathy. Often it’s challenging to share the right sentiment and condolence with those who have lost a loved one. Giving a delightful and thoughtful card to express sympathy or give consolation is an ideal way to show that you care. Within the inDOMitable Love Card series, you’ll find just the right sympathy card to bring comfort and hope to a friend or loved one during their time of grief.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I love Atlanta! The itinerary would include a day at Chateau Elan Winery& Resort, and  a serene and relaxing facial and massage at the Omni Day Spa. We would visit the following restaurants throughout the week: the Sugar Factory, Linnethia Lounge, Garden Parc. Seasons 52, Sun Dial, Rumi’s Kitchen Avalon, and Gypsy Kitchen. You cannot visit Atlanta and not shop! Here we come Phipps Plaza, Mall of Georgia and New Black Wall Street Market. A must visit is Stone Mountain Park. I love football so we have to catch a football game at the  Mercedes Benz Stadium. There are so many options between shopping, sightseeing, sports, and restaurants that you will never go wrong visiting atlanta. I’m just grateful to live here!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My village – my  support system – has been and still is amazing! I’m beyond grateful. First and foremost, I thank God! He’s my ROCK! My praises will always go to God first. He has kept me when I wanted to give up on myself.  I smile because I know God heard my cries and continues to heal my heart.  My therapists, family, church families, dear friends, community, my co-author family, Come Back E-Group, and work-family have been a strong safety net for me. They got my back and I really appreciate them.  Also I have to shout thanks to my mentors – Carolyn Grant, Courtney Aiken, Tenia Taylor, Vanessa Greene, Nataisha Aiken, and Patrice Reed. Each person has been vital to my journey. Without God and therapy, I wouldn’t be as strong and confident as I am today.
