We had the good fortune of connecting with Darielle Moorer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darielle, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always had a passion for all things makeup and beauty from a young age . I remember being a little girl and always wanting to style my own hair, play dress-up, and put on makeup. As I got older, I fell more in love with getting all dolled up. I wanted other women to feel as beautiful as I did whenever I would do my makeup, so I started offering makeup services to others. It’s a good feeling to see my clients happy and with a new level of confidence when they leave my chair.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Darielle Moorer, and the name of my business is Doll’d by Dari. I specialize in providing makeup and beauty services, as well as products. As a freelance makeup artist of almost 5 years, I’ve tried every type of lash and makeup product there is, low and high-end. My ultimate goal is to bring my customers cute, trendy, top-notch cosmetics and beauty products, at an affordable price.

I got to where I am today by putting in hard-work, lots of time, and effort. A key step in starting a business, is to find something that you have a passion for, and base it off of that. Often times people start businesses just because they see someone else doing it, not realizing that entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. Of course anything is possible if you try, but I will say it’s definitely not as easy as it may look. There have been a lot of days where I wanted to give up just because things weren’t going exactly how I thought they should, but giving up is not, and should never be, an option. One lesson I learned, is that in this business, some days are going to be better than others. I thank God for where I am today and for bringing me and my business this far. I have so much more to bring to the table and I’m truly just getting started.

A huge and exciting accomplishment for me was starting my online website, www.dolldbydari.com, in March 2021. My best-seller is called A & D’s Hair Growth Oil, which is a hair growth oil that was created by my mom and I, that contains over 7 all natural oils and vitamins. I have many other products and services under development that I will be releasing in the near future. Make sure to follow me on all social media, and stay tuned!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my mom, Angilaus Moorer. She has always played a huge role in my success. She’s been my #1 supporter since day 1, and she’s always there to listen to my ideas and offer advice.

I also would like to shoutout my siblings (Darius, Derrell, D’Andria, & Darya). They’re always there to lend me a helping hand, whenever needed. They let me know how proud they are of me, and that motivates me to do even better.

I can’t forget about my boyfriend, my dad, and of course all of my amazing clients and customers as well.
