Meet Angel Robinson | Entrepreneur & Fashion Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Honestly the most important lesson my business has taught me is to never give up and keep going no matter what. It’s so easy to neglect something or become discouraged in the beginning, but when you’re passionate about something you have to see it all the way through. Also, I must say it has taught me to be more open, like putting myself out there more, really applying pressure to get noticed. People always have pride and don’t want to be “annoying” or “pushy” but hey that’s what REAL hustlers do. Nobody can stop my motion.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the Stiff Mami Collection we take pride in being fly on a budget. We sell high quality products for a very affordable price. We know that’s what people like, we know the prices will wheel people in for sure. You know the saying “ you get what you pay for”? Well that doesn’t apply in a negative way over here. You’re getting the quality you want plus a great price. I take so much pride in the quality of our products because I know what I’m looking for when I shop for things so I have to guarantee the same experience for my customers. The journey is not easy and I’m still learning so many things as a new business woman. I am so hard on myself too, I’m literally my biggest critic. I want people to see and understand my vision so bad and sometimes people don’t get it so it can be a bit frustrating sometimes but you can’t give up you have to keep going. I think about the first pop up shop I’ve ever done at Miami Lounge in Lilburn,Georgia and how nervous I was to show off my stuff! I was literally panicking, hoping people like my products, my set up, the message , etc and it was very successful. If it wasn’t for them pushing me to do the event I honestly don’t know how things would be now because they opened me up on a whole new level. It was the interaction with customers, the way people were so fascinated with my products that let me know I’m on to something and I have to keep going. Seeing people sport my products is the best feeling ever. Seeing how confident people are when they’re dressing up my items, I love it. I just want everyone to know that the Stiff Mami Collection is here to please everyone’s fashion needs, men included. I wanted to make sure my fellas had their essentials as well. I just want everyone to know that I really love what I do and that all my supporters keep me going. I want everyone to feel exclusive when they wear my products, unique.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For starters, we hitting Piedmont Park for a fact. Might even set up a little picnic. I love being outdoors, just being active really. I love doing things that allow me to just think and create new ideas. But most importantly, I love eating. Good eats are a must and you can definitely get that and some in Atlanta. One of my favorite spots in the city is Roc South Cuisine. My mouth watering just thinking about it. I mean A1 for sure. They lamb chops go so crazy! Atlanta really lit too because you can really go to a lounge and have top tier eats lol. For an example Delightful eatz on Edgewood Ave, they’re night lounge but I go for the food and of course have a good time, but mainly the food! They’re bartenders make great drinks as well! But enough of eating, far as actual activities, I would love to visit the High Museum of Art in midtown. I’m a sucker for art man, the aesthetics. Like I said before I love being in creative spaces.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give my God a special shout-out because if it wasn’t for him my brand would not be here to this day. I put my trust in him and he got me through some tough obstacles that nobody even knows. So many silent battles I went through but he kept me going. My family and friends of course as well, they go so hard for me and I’m so grateful to have them on my team. All the reposts, all the pictures they take, etc I really appreciate them because they keep me on my toes, seriously.
