Hi Shanai Jenkins, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my sucess within Eyes Of Nai Photography has been making everyone feel comfortable within themselves. It has been a joy as I continue to watch my clients fall in love with themselves, through looking at their photos. A personal important factor is to always keep pushing. Sometimes you lose sight in what you want for yourself because life gets in the way. I find myself praying and meditating to keep myself grounded and it has been working !

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With just a year left at Fordham University, I was struggling trying to find a class to complete my degree. Photography class caught my eye quickly because I thought, “that’s an easy class.” After my first photography assignment, my professor fell in love with my work and told me I should take photography seriously. I’m so happy I listened to him. June 2022, I make 4 years of being a photographer and I’ve grown so much. Out of the many lessons I learned, the most important one is that things always improve, as long as you’re working hard.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in NYC it is a few places to choose from. The Kutty Bar and lounge (@thekuttybx) that’s my top spot to get some drinks, good food , and a great party !! When I go to the boil (@the.boil), I always get the BEST crab legs, Cajun fries, and a good drink. Lastly Taj Lounge in NYC is my favorite place to party!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, friends, and Partner has been a huge part of my sucess. I have the parents that support me through everything. Many parents usually don’t take their creative child(ren) serious, while mine invested money and time. I am beyond grateful and blessed for them. With my partner, he always believed in my vision and continues to give me ideas to keep me growing. My friends book photoshoots with me, share my work, and have also been there since the beginning. Having a huge support system has kept me going.
