Meet Gian-Carlo Torres | Health & wellness entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gian-Carlo Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gian-Carlo, how do you think about risk?
I remember Elon Musk once mentioned that when he was worth approximately a $1 billion, he decided to reinvest all of it back to his businesses. People told him he was crazy, & he was. But his vision was so strong that he decided to risk it all.
Now, he is worth over $200 billion.
When I start analyzing my entrepreneurial life, I realize that my greatest successes have been because of risk taking. For example, I started to become an entrepreneur at 19 years old, right after high school, with no money nor business experience. And I decided to go all in.
Was that a risk? Absolutely! I would ask myself questions like:
• Do I have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur?
• Will people respect me?
Now that I go back & think about it, I realize that even though I really didn’t know all the facts, I didn’t need too. As author & entrepreneur Larry Thompson says: “Before making a decision, understand you only need 51% of the correct facts. Not 90%, 80%, 60%, not even 55%! Just 51%. Because we will never have all the facts, we only need the right ones.”
Our minds are like rubber bands. A rubber band only has value if it’s stretched. Our minds are stretched when we take risks!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We help people maintain a strong immune system with a natural protein, called Immunocal & Immunocal Platinum. We are privileged to have helped thousands of people with it, people that if you ask them, they can’t see themselves NOT consuming it, because of the importance it has on their health.
We also help people start side gigs by helping other people with it, & earn part time income, sometimes full time income.
It definitely wasn’t easy when I started, because as mentioned, I had no success track record. So most people didn’t believe in me, nor encouraged me to do it. Many told me to go study, get a job, etc. When I would tell them to at least become a customer & try it, most wouldn’t even bother. And because of my lack of experience, I made many mistakes that clearly exposed my weaknesses in business & life. One was preparation.
I realized that preparation was my biggest weakness because many times in the beginning, when I would host an event or go for a goal, it wouldn’t go well at all. And I didn’t know why!
Well, I wouldn’t prepare nor sit down & analyze aspects like:
• Cost
• Time
• People involved
• Energy
By understanding this aspect of my personality, I went to work on it. I started consulting more with mentors, reading books like “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth” by John Maxwell, going & investing in events for personal growth.
As Warren Buffet says: “The most important investment is investing in yourself.”
If I had to give one piece of advice for entrepreneurs, or for the ones that want to become entrepreneurs, it’s to invest in yourself, even when you’re broke. I know how it is to be in debt, & still investing in going to an event by plane. I know how it is to be earning $500 a month, & still invest $100 a month in books. But all of this was necessary for me to become the entrepreneur I am today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me, it’s all about food. Wherever the good food, that’s where we will be.
First, I would take them to Ponce City Market. I know I am the 1638392 person from ATL mentioning this, but we do love Ponce City market! It’s a great place because the atmosphere is affirming, it has great restaurants & bakeries.
One bakery in ponce city that we love is 5 daughters. They specialize in making “cronuts”, which is a donut with a crossiant style. They are literally so good thay you wonder how is it possible to find something so tasty.
For the pizza lovers, I take them to Antico Pizzeria Napoletana. My brother Diego & I are pizza connoisseurs, & Anticos is one of the greatest we have ever tried. We like it so much that when we came back to Atlanta after living in Jacksonville, FL 3 years, I remember going back, & while eating the pizza (they also had “Nessun dorma!” playing in the backround) that I started to get emotional. It’s truly a unique experience for pizza lovers & for everyone who comes to visit.
Another place I would take them would be to “The Battery.” A great place to walk, talk, & enjoy the atmosphere.
In general, ATL has so much to do with lot’s of culture.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents!
When I struggled at school, they believed in me. When I struggled as an entrepreneur, they believed in me. They have given me so much support since day ONE!
