Meet Caroline Watson | Custom Gardener

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I did not look at creating beautiful flower beds and creative pots as a business. I have always loved gardens and beautiful containers since attending college. My great grandmother (Great) would call me to come plant her Summer and Fall flowers when I was attending the University of South Carolina. I really fell in love with planting at that time. Once our girls were older I declared it was time for me to follow a passion of mine so Blooming Buckets and Beds was created in Roswell, Georgia in the Fall of 2019. I describe my work as an interior designer but for the outside of the home. I work in the North Atlanta area and have even travelled to Athens, GA and South Carolina to work with clients. I meet with my clients to discuss what they want, plants they love and colors they like or dislike. It is all about pleasing them because plants are supposed to make us all happy! I do the shopping, delivery and work. My goal for 2022 is to move into more commercial while keeping up with my fabulous residential clients. I have a true passion and love for what I do so it never feels like a job to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create beautiful pots and beds. I am not the typical landscaper by any means. I sit with my clients and discuss exactly what they want accomplished whether it’s just creating beautiful containers or doing shrub/flower beds too. I am very hands on and also enjoy the friendships I have made along this journey I began in 2019. Word of mouth has been my best advertising and I have met some really fabulous people in the Atlanta area. I have learned throughout starting this business is to be very open minded about anything and every idea someone presents me because it opens you up to creating some really beautiful gardens when the ideas begin to flow. I would love for folks to check out my Facebook and Instagram pages under Blooming Buckets and Beds to view my work. They may text or call me at (706) 614-4840. I love what I do everyday and consider myself to be very fortunate to follow my passion!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I really enjoy going into downtown Roswell on Canton Street and the cute area in Alpharetta. There are so many fun, relaxing places to enjoy in our area. Great shopping and so many great restaurants! I really enjoy 1920 on Canton Street in downtown Roswell and VAS which is close to 1920 for Greek food. I shop all over the place in my area. Canton Street is fun to walk down. You can eat, shop and have plenty of offerings of drinks to choose from as well. There are fun people everywhere!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My great grandmother (Great) was my inspiration. She loved gardens and taught me a lot from her experiences. My girls and extended family continue to encourage me to follow my passion and have been wonderful in pushing me to keep growing!
