We had the good fortune of connecting with JeQuetta Canady (JCANDO) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JeQuetta, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Roanoke, Alabama. I was diagnosed with Dyslexia in the 3rd grade. I struggled with fitting in and knowing who I was. I didn’t value my thoughts or my voice. I ended up being a young mother and wife right out of high school. I joined the military later in life where I got to see what leadership really looked like. It was through my military career that God not only began to show me who He was in me but, who I was in Him. After a breast cancer diagnosis and early medical retirement from the military, I started my journey in entrepreneurship and I haven’t looked back since. They call me J-CAN-DO because I believe I “CAN DO” all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil 4:13).

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help guide business owners and entrepreneurs on their journey to building Business Credit. I assist with everything from setting up your entity credibly to building business credit, to getting funding for your business. I not only focus on the business building aspect but I also encourage my clients to have a Kingdom Vision mindset. I believe we all have gifts and talents that are for a specific purpose in this life and we have an obligation to leave a legacy that affects generations to come.

It doesn’t take much for me, but I get pretty excited to know the information I share is helping someone else achieve success, fulfill their purpose, and have the freedom they desire. I must say, I am only where I am today because of the grace of God. I accredit every person who has helped me in some way, every position, every promotion, and every opportunity to God’s hand over my life. I truly would not be where I am without Christ. My journey in entrepreneurship has been one of the hardest things I have gone through (And I’m a cancer thriver…). I struggled with deciding whether to minister the Word of God or pursue business. God revealed to me my ministry was my business and my business stemmed from the gifts and talents He had given me. I first went back to the Word, then I had to believe in myself. I took action and decided to never give up.

I have learned self-confidence is key to success, perception is in the eye of the beholder and someone else’s is none of my business, and you can never fail if you never give up. I want the world to know, you are special, you have a purpose, you are needed, and if JCANDO, so can YOU!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an introvert who loves adventure, so we’d definitely visit some of Atlanta’s nature parks and hiking trails. I’m starting to eat healthier so we’d stop by Slutty Vegan for lunch and we’d stop by Kupcakery for the best cupcakes in the “A” (I said I was starting to eat healthier…). Before the visit is over we’d take a road trip to Opelika, Alabama to visit Melanin Cafe for some good food, great coffee, and some black history vibes. I love experiencing new things with great people, I love nature and peaceful sceneries, and I cherish every moment to the fullest. The best things to do and people to see are the things that bring you joy with the people you love.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my family for being a huge part of my support system. From an ear to listen or shoulder to cry on, to personal stylist or business back office support, to nanny duties or just being there to get it done, I can always count on them to be there when I need them.

I’ve also met some amazing people along my military journey. Every “Battle Buddy”, NCO, Officer, support staff member, Chaplain, civilian leader, and military spouse has played a significant part in the steps I’ve taken thus far.

There are also several community members and leaders that have been a true inspiration to me spiritually, at home, and in business.

Lastly, I must shout out the business coaches and mentors who have helped guide me in my entrepreneurial journey. I believe if you want to go far you must seek guidance from someone who’s been there and who has achieved the success you desire to achieve.

They all know who they are. I just want to take this time to say thank you!
