We had the good fortune of connecting with Tali Mattox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tali, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was scared. I won’t even lie to you. But I come from a family of entrepreneurs so I knew if I needed help and resources it was accessible to me. I was terrified but I thought of how my children could benefit from this business in the future and how many doors it could open for me and then and I just went with it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I got to where I am today by just following my passion. I’ve always been into clothes and that’s how it began. Then makeup, now lashes. But they all go hand in hand so it works out. Everything else was trial and error. I’m not afraid to take the stairs, but I’m afraid of falling down them and now getting up. It wasn’t easy at all. There’s sooooo many lash artists. But when it comes to Lash God Artistry, it’s truly the best. It’s raw it’s authentic. But I had to make it that way. I overcame the challenges I was faced with by remaining true to myself. I’ve learned that that is the most important. People love feeling like you’re personable, relatable. I always wanted to remain raw and real. I want everyone to know that Lash God Artistry is different. Not because I want to outdo everyone, but because it’s okay to be, different, that is.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ouuu this is tough. Because Atlanta is such a magical place. Everyday is always an adventure when I’m there. So an itinerary is tough but some of the places we would HAVE to go are: VVS lounge (the teriyaki lamb is to die for), the botanical garden, Breakfast at Barney’s, Toast, The Bakery co work space, the Black Hair Experience, Cru, The Dollhouse (s/o to my sister Naya!), Pascha, Sipping Prettea, The Garden Room, there’s soooooo much more. We would be here all day with me naming places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I honestly have to give the credit to my children and to the books “Girl Boss” and “The Glitter Plan”. Both are amazing reads for girl bosses. They helped me get motivated but there is no greater motivation than my two boys. Everything I do, every mistake I make, every win I score is for them.
