We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Knowing your lane, knowing that you may have multiple lanes and not trying to fit into other people’s lanes.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my photography business in May 2020. Although I knew that the industry was already saturated, I was not afraid to start. From the beginning, I believed that competition was not an issue because no one else had my “eye”. Photography is an art and no one else can create the art like you. It doesn’t matter if there are already millions of other photographers. I knew that I would be successful because no one else has my life experience. You bring your personality, perspective and purpose to your artwork. Since I have started my journey, I have learned that after a while you begin to attract a certain type of client. Your work will attract the clients that fit you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother has always been my number one supporter.
