We had the good fortune of connecting with Keisha Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keisha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The success I’ve had in my life has totally been the result of the grace of God, hard work and determination. My parents instilled in me at a very early age to do my very best at all times and never give up. I’ve always tried to spend my time in my professional and personal life doing things that I’m passionate about, so I can always use that passion to give me the necessary fuel I need to be successful. When my business partner, Amber and I started Modati we had a natural passion for the business because we both have daughters that we love beyond measure.  Curating and spending quality and intentional time with them and creating that for others is one of our top priorities. We are dedicated to assisting with making mother/daughter relationships as healthy as possible one relationship at a time starting with our own and expanding to all mothers, daughters and/or maternal figures.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve had a long career in event planning and project management. My current business Modati (MO-mother, DA-daughter, TI- time), is the brainchild of two mothers who were looking for more curated options to spend quality time with their daughters. Each activity box and event is planned with the utmost thoughts of intentional connection, quality time and fun incorporated. The activity boxes include connection questions that relate to the activity inside the box and also serve as conversation starters. I am so proud that my daughter gets to have a front row seat to me following my dreams and am excited to be able to hopefully pass Modati on to her one day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would eat at Ruth Chris- it’s simply delicious every single time I visit. We would also drop by Lure which has delicious Seafood.
After eating we would visit Splatter Studio which is an artist or aspiring artist’s paradise. You can create your own work of art by using unconventional items to paint/splatter your canvas. Next we would drop by the Georgia Aquarium because it’s so much fun for people of all ages. Then there’s always my house- there’s no shortage of great music, entertainment and food all the time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Thank you God for your love, grace and mercy! Thank you to my husband and daughter for being the light of my life and the reason I work so hard. Thank you to my business partner Amber for being on this professional and personal journey with me.
