We had the good fortune of connecting with Vasiliki Theodoropoulos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vasiliki, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was an apparel designer in the fashion industry, for well known brands, well over 25 years. After the birth of my daughter i knew it was time to really put the wheels in motion and venture off on my own.
I really knew it was time to create my own line/ brand. I created a few hair accessories for my daughter and the idea grew from there. The name behind our brand Chrisanthi Couture ,is my daughter’s name Chrisanthi. The meaning of her name is significant to our brand as it means gold flowers. The brand evolved into beautiful headpeices and accessories for children. It also took flight to include headpeices for women as well. We create magical peices for women and children. The brand keeps growing and evolving. Our peices can also be seen on runway as well as in magazines.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We create many beautiful headpeices and accessories. We have simple peices for everyday as well as elaborate peices that are works of art that you will see us create for magazine shoots and for runway. I am most proud to see this brand develop , grow and evolve. It is amazing to see and we are most excited about the future of our brand. We are excited to see how it grows. My design backround really plays a pivitol role in our brand. We are looking forward to possibly expanding the brand into beautiful dresses as well. It is not easy to take one idea an expand it into a brand but we are fortunate enough to see it take a life of it own. The challenges we have had when starting the brand is watching the direction we thought we should take and the direction it really took. We were open to the direction the brand was taking and we used that to grow the brand. Nothing is easy but you trully have to beleive in your brand in order to help it grow. Our story is trully a magical one. The beauty of one idea has aloud us to have fun and be creative everyday single day. Creating these magical , stunning works of art that we trully love sharing with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
New York City is great but Charming sunburbs of long island are a must see. There are so many beautiful places on long island. The vineyards in the North fork and South fork of Long Island are a must see. A favorite is Duck Walk Vineyards , Pindar Vineyards and Wolfer Estate Vineyards. Enjoy the music, wine tasting and good company all in the vineyard setting. The Lavender Fields and Sunflower Fields are a must see as well. Lavender by the Bay where the view of French and English lavender is a beautiful site with amazing puffy clouds and crisp blue skies are the backdrop. Sitting inside the Lavender Fields amongst the lavender, smelling the beautiful aromas and relaxing. The fragrant fields are just simply divine, The sunflower fields are where i love to get lost in. It is just so beautiful. Water Drinker Farm and the North fork Sunflower Maze is another. On a beautiful sunny day surrounded by sunflowers which you can actually gather yourself. The farms are so inviting too .. You can pick peaches blueberries , razzberries, apples , tomatoes , watermelon ,strawberries and more. One of my favorites is Lewin farms. You name it , you can pick it ,when in season of course. So many wonderful farm stands to visit as well. The farms are so inviting and lots of fun for families. Many activities for kids and adults , A favorite has to be Harbes Family Farm, Really alot of fun , Alot of games animals , food , music. The best apple pies and fruit pies and worth standing in line is Breimier Farms. Their pies do not dissapoint . No favortie here , they are all deliscious using farm grown fruit. The beaches are a must to visit on long island as you know . A favorite has to be Fire Island. A natures paradise and one of my favorites. Coopers beach in South Hampton is another favorite. There are just too many beaches to mention from the Hamptons , Montauk, to Greenport .. There are so many restaurants and eateries to eat at not to mention they all are fantastic. Navy beach is a favorite in Montauk. Claudio’s in Greenport, Gurneys in Montauk, The boutique and quaint places to stay are just as amazing as well. Fun and relaxation . A week on long island no matter what the season would be most fun and exciting place to spend it with people visiting.

I want to say a special thank you to my daughter who is the inspiration behind the brand. She is my helper , my little model, fit model. She loves to help in the design process as well. Sharing this with her is simply amazing. I would like to thank Kidfash Magazine who really saw our vision , how amazing our peices really are and gave us the platform to really showcase our styles in their magazine.
