We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnnette Johnston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johnnette, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I grew up around fashion. Michigan is known for having that fashion statement known! I love it ! Since i was young i couldn’t think of a better lifestyle than this one! I cant wait for what’s instored for me that i create and vision a lot of things to help market and brand my business ! Everyday i write in my notebook about what i want to create that week and i use that to make content on social media ! It has helped me to grow mentally, spiritually and emotionally and taught me that whatever i sow my seed in that it will grow and bloom. I just started and I’m ready to take off to become that fashion brand on the block

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am proud of the women i have become ! There’s nothing like having FAITH and knowing that you can do exactly what your heart desires. I believe this generation is HUNGRY to be the next big thing so I would say I’m just hustling and when it is my time to take off i know that with the hard work and dedication that i have did over the years will pay off in OVERFLOW of blessings. I didn’t have it all growing up i had a middle class family lifestyle that struggled from time to time & just making sure that we are together and not apart. I am family orientated so i always ensure my family that i will make them proud and be the first person to stop generational curses! I don’t look at social media as an outlet for what i need to be doing in life or how life should go i use this plate form to show people that I’m with them and we are all going to WIN ! I want to be an influence for my younger generation that don’t have a strong mindset to overcome mentally and is surrounded by people that will do anything to be known, i want them to be inspired an see that i am them and they can follow their dreams the right way as well! I want people to look at my brand and see a story behind it and know that it took alot of prayer and guidance to get this far in my life ! I am happy of the women i am becoming and this is just the start! To be continued …!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coming to Michigan we have to go to coney ! That is the number one spot that everybody that visits us should go! Downtown Detroit has blossomed over the years and taking a stroll down there will be the ultimate during the day kind of feels. Seeing mo town , museums and even the river walk After that we can go to a nice bar or do a drive in movie night.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people that help me to push is my FAMILY and Close FRIENDS ! Without them i would of committed a lot of things that would of destroyed my life! But the power of a praying group behind you will get you to places you will never thought you could see !
