We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tara, has the Coronavirus Crisis changed how you think about work life balance?
This Pandemic has been a true eye opener. It put the whole world on pause and forced us to be present in the moment. I use this time to RESET, REALIGN and REFOCUS. Often time we are in a rat race to be the best this or the best that and miss the true purpose or the “why” we started on the career path or business venture we are on or in. I am finding myself taking in more life’s moments that may have been missed otherwise. Life is to be looked at through a whole new set of lens. I am more purposeful about what is important and will make a point to partake of it and not just a mere spectator of it. Maybe that means booking less clients or finding creative ways to make it all work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a professional photographer for over a decade. I love to capture the essence of people. Throughout the years there have been a lot of challenges along the way as the world turns …lol. The important thing to remember is to be true to yourself and be authentic. That is the secret to longevity in this industry. Even if it seems that the industry is oversaturated, look for ways to set yourself apart, remind yourself of the “why” you started, and never lose your passion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would hit all the local seafood spots, then we would head to the historic areas to visit the MLK museum, and then off to the World of Coke, we would end the night with live music wherever the band “GRITZ and JELLY BUTTER” is playing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout Angelica of Unique Rose Events. Angelica is a true gem and firm believer of, “If she eats we all eat”. I am one of her preferred vendors and we grow together. She always support my business and shows unconditional love.
