We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzuri Rouse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazzuri, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always wanted to work for myself and be my own boss and pressure doing something I love, so I decided to capitalize on my talents.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets my business apart is everything is made fresh and bought locally to support the local economy here in Georgia. I also feed the homeless with leftovers and throughout the week so I know they’re getting a good home-cooked meal. I got where I’m today by staying consistent and constantly promoting my business every chance I get. No, it hasn’t been easy, it is well worth it some weeks are better than others but on down days is when I can brainstorm on ways to improve my business, customer service, and try out new recipes. If you work hard, stay positive, and constantly promote yourself your name will appear in rooms and places you have yet to reach.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go visit the new Westside Park in Atlanta. We would go to this Mexican food truck in Jonesboro they have some of the best authentic Mexican food. We would also visit Ponce city market at night for the great view and all the local eateries. We would visit little 5 points for some shopping. Depending on the season we would catch a game from one of the many pro teams in Atlanta soccer or basketball are the first ones to come to mind.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friends, family, unborn daughter Zuri, and boyfriend for always supporting me
