Meet Shanise Ollie | Entrepreneur & Millennial Faith Based Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanise Ollie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always wanting to be purposeful with my life while also being able to establish my family legacy financially.
What should our readers know about your business?
My family and I opened a selfie museum located in Lansing, Michigan. A selfie museum is a type of art installation designed for visitors to use as a back drop for photos. One unique thing that I love about our selfie space (Love Your Selfie Factory) is we are using the space to empower other minority owned businesses by hosting special events. I wanted to add strength and support to my local community.
There has been a lot of sleepness nights. But one thing I believe has played a role in my success is having a personal relationship with God, and being consistent with my natural efforts of personal development and growth. Getting my mind in order. Reading, praying, and spending time doing selfcare. It was not easy, but I prayed for this, Along the way I learned that I must keep my mindset in check because our thoughts send us in a direction. This would be key in me protecting what I believed about me, and what God already declared over me,
I want people to know you can work hard and still not be successful. It’s important that we are putting our hands to things we were purposed to do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Buddy’s Pizza Zara
Tj Maxx
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many great influences in my life. From my parents Pastor Donnie & Francine Mitchell, my grandparents Louis and Priscilla Stokes, Charles & Elinor Mitchell. This was my foundation of love, and support.
My husband Quan Ollie & 3 boys (Kingston, Jase, and August).
I had a HighSchool teacher who was relentless in her endeavours to make me believe that I was special Mrs. Martha Croley
I would have never made it to the place I am now without having changed my mindset it started with my favorite book I read many years ago by Joyce Meyers, “The Battlefield of the Mind.”
