Meet Juanitia Prince | Cosmetologist & Owner of House of Prince Cosmetics (HOP COSMETICS)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juanitia Prince and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juanitia, what matters most to you?
Integrity (doing what’s right even when no one is looking) I hold myself accountable for evey action I do. I don’t ever want to feel guilty for doing the wrong thing or setting the wrong example. I want my children to be proud of their mother.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business name is House of Prince Cosmetics or H.O.P. Cosmetics. What sets it apart from others is everything is done by me. I create the labels, marketing, product formulation; everything is in house made. I truly honored to be an entrepreneur. Being a licensed cosmetologist enables me to create specialized products to cater to various textures and variations skin and hair types. When the obstacles and challenges came, I knew that I would endure many restless nights to improve my business. During those times I trusted the process and pushed through. This journey is tough but rewarding process and I love it. I want people to know that this lady from a small town who was not a part of the popular cliques has a makeup and hair product line that is amazing. I want the younger generation to understand that you don’t have to be half naked to make it. A strong will with a vision, dedication, and determination will take you there.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first few days would be spent at home on the deck with tiki torches enjoying various home cook meals by yours truly and catching up on old times. Then we would visit some hidden gems in town like Dees diner for breakfast, the local paint & play on mulberry st, and Barrique on john st for live music and drinks. One of our major gems is Center Street in Goldsboro where you can experience various boutiques and restaurants. On Friday and Saturday we would venture out to the Smithfield and Raleigh outlets to do some retail therapy and check out C Grace which is a jazz lounge, then head back to Goldsboro to party at Heroes Sports Bar with Dj Dont YaKno and Dj Ultimate. We would spend our Sunday at the beach enjoying some mimosas while listening to the waves crash.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my family. My mother who instilled in me how to carry myself as a woman, and to always work hard. My brother who taught me all things are possible. My sister who showed me there is always room for improvement. My children who shows me how to live life to the fullest with no regreat. I also want to give a shoutout to my husband who is my number one cheerleader, and best friend. He taught me how to love and love hard. He has been right here with me through it all.
