Meet Brittany Rosser | Protective Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Rosser and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first started doing hair, I was only servicing my friends and family members. It wasn’t until I got to college where I realized that it was very expensive to keep up with getting a new style. I quickly noticed that not everyone could afford the new and upcoming prices of these new stylists. My thought process behind starting my business was to be affordable and accessible to anyone who wanted to receive a protective style.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I’m not doing hair, I’m a dispatch lead for my company through Amazon. I like to stay on my toes, and logistics work is the work field to do so. I think what sets me apart from others is my need to continuously learn. No matter what I do, I make sure I do my best, and it shows. It definitely took me a while to get to where I am, but when you do it on your own then all the hardships becomes mini trophies. No, it wasn’t easy but giving up was no option, ever. The lessons I’ve learned, whether it comes down to my business and my professional life, is that life gets hard. Not everyone responds how I do, so don’t take everything so personal. Not everyone thinks how I do, so be teachable. Cherish the good moments and always move to the beat of your own drum. I want the world to know that no matter what I do, B.U. StyleZ is for everyone. Be Unique. Style your life how you want it to be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooooh. If my best friend came to visit, it’s definitely a week of adventures lol. We definitely have to hit Rays on the River, Big Daddy’s off Old National Hwy, Starbucks for SURE, and Mary Macs. To hang out, we would go get our nails done, hit up Jeju spa for some girl talk and relaxation, Starlight Drive-in for a quick movie and ending at the Piedmont Park. For an outing, we’re definitely going to link up with DJ SlimB wether he’s at Cru, or wherever. Fin and feathers for the bomb drinks, food and hookah lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to recognize my amazing cousin Jacee Cammon. Honestly, I wouldn’t even thought about college nor going forward with my hair business if it wasn’t for her.
I want to recognize my amazing line sisters and sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated for the continuous support when it comes to booking and promoting my business.
Lastly, I want to shoutout my Mom, Stephanie Adams for even teaching me how to braid. Love you shawty 💙🤞🏽.
