We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyndon Winchester and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lyndon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started photographing in 2000. I have always been inspired by my ability to create art. Being photographed most of my life made me curious about what it would be like to photograph others myself. Once i picked up my first camera i fell in love immediately. Being able to see an object behind a lens is unexplainable. It’s like an artists blank canvas and configuring in your mind what you want to create.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m today’s world of photography i feel what sets me apart is that i did not start out in the digital media. I was introduced to photography when we were still using film. The ability to create with film allowed me to have more control over my image. I allow myself room to navigate my shots. Getting to where i am now was no easy task but with the help of the relationships ive built over the course of time those relationships have allowed me to continue my platform. I believe that when you provide quality it’s hard to deny someone their talent.
One of the main things that i have learned throughout my career is that your art is your art. You can’t allow yourself to shy away from what you feel you want to become as an artist. Always allow yourself room to grow. If you don’t allow that room then you will at some point plateau.
Don’t be afraid to fall in love with what you do. Love is the biggest art form.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe all the credit to my mother and my grandmother for their encouragement of me pursuing entrepreneurship. Their support allowed me to flourish and become who i am today.
