We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Vickers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I worked at two different shops before I opened my own. At both I was involved and trusted in a lot of business affairs as well as daily operates that went on. So I said to myself if I can help run someone’s else’s business why can’t I run my own.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In this career and business as a barber you have to wear many hats. Being a person that every client needs and the barber that they want you to be without compromising who you are can be the toughest part. What makes what you do easy is the love and the understanding what barbers mean the people and the community. Consistency, loyalty and sacrifice keeps the busy going.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, Atlanta is so big and small at same time. To do it on a week is hard but here goes. You would have to all the historical sites, there’s so many you would have to choose. We have some of best breakfast spots Real Milk & Honey, Gochas and Atlanta Breakfast Club. When it come to the night life you have your choose of hangout spots when it comes to clubs and music you like. Finding food is like a buffet. There’re good eats every where. You have to visit our adult entertainment spots and Magic City will never let you down.
