We had the good fortune of connecting with Keyneca Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keyneca, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It’s always been destined for me to be a creative. I’ve worked in several industries between retail & sedentary jobs. Nothing has every fulfilled my passion or joy as much as being an artist has. It gives me a purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professional makeup artist of 8+years. I’m a creative director for photographers, musicians and brands. I am mostly proud of my strength and go getter mindset. I see things through. It’s never easy being a creative & I acknowledge that. My ability to adapt & my creative mind sets me apart. I learned that everything won’t be perfect but it’s always worth it. I want the world to know that I do everything with love. 💞

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s go friends! I consider myself a chill person & I like to experience cool vibes. We would most likely eat anywhere Downtown Detroit. Hit the belt for a cute bar called standby & people seeing through the alley. Lots of art events happen here so that’s where we’d be. Enjoying life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout-out to an amazing artist & my partner Jaye Prime.

I would also like to give a shout-out to Angel Reeves the owner of Haus of $y. A black woman owned luxury brand. I am the brands creative director & she has never doubted my vision.
