Growing up in a household that encouraged me to pursue my artistic talents, I’ve always valued creativity as something that should be valued on a community level. Art is one of the most therapeutic ways of processing daily life, and for many artists it is the only way they feel comfortable sharing their deepest emotions. For those reasons I feel incredibly honored to be able, with a recording studio that I own and operate, to offer an artistic outlet. The region where our studio is located is largely low-income and located away from major cities. Artists in the area don’t necessarily have the best access to quality recording like they would get in New York or Atlanta. Motion In Motherhood is dedicated to breaking the stigma that new moms SHOULD do it all (without support, hardship, difficulty, complaining, etc). Our society holds new moms to a standard which demands that they have a new baby and immediately snap back to their previous bodies, jobs, and routine all while taking care of a newborn–full time.
