Work-Life Balance: is there such a thing?

A host of factors, developments, and dynamics have made most industries more competitive than ever. As a result so many of us wonder whether there is still such a thing as work-life balance. We reached out to the community to hear perspectives on finding the right balance.

I believe in allocating time for myself, my family and friends, and my work. The proportion of time allocated to each of these aspects of my life changes, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and over decades. I used to put more emphasis into my social life and what I considered to be fun. Over time, I realized that anything meaningful dealt with work and putting in effort. This changed my view of a work life balance, I could do the work by incorporating it into more of my life and not seeing it so much as what I have to do. Read more>>

Balancing work and life has changed within the past year. I prioritize family, friendships, and being outside. Balancing time off, even if it’s 30 minutes out of the day, helps keep me motivated. So, what I like to do is schedule a day to review and list out everything I have to complete that week. Then I will categorize and prioritize accordingly. Read more>>
