We had the good fortune of connecting with William Lassiter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be the impact of my work. I want to be known more for the impression, feelings, moods i leave on people rather than the work itself. For my photos and videos to leave lasting impacts even long after i am gone from the earth. That’s my true definition of legacy and what i want mine to be.

People always remember the way you make them feel whether its good or bad so that is always the goal…to be remembered. I want them to remember the exact day, time, place and how they felt when they see my work.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lassiter Family Productions is the name of my business and we do Photography and Videography. I soon hope to be able to hire someone to assist me with producing or at least film as well. What sets us apart from others is that we take what the person wants from the time they book through post production. We want tears of happiness and joy to flow from our customers’ eyes.

Starting the business was definitely not easy. A lot goes into starting your own business, wanting to be the best, the delivery of your content, the type of content you produce, etc. The amount of planning I had to do was more than I could have ever anticipated. Of course we had challenges like promoting, deciding which platforms to reach our audience on, the number of projects to handle at a time but I reached out for help from a mentor in order to balance all of those things.

The main thing I want the world to know about Lassiter Family Productions is that we care. We care about the way you feel and how you are going to feel once we gift you with our services. A quote I continuously go to is “I may not be able to change the world but I can spark the mind of the person who can.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to the Beer Garden for food and drinks. All of my friends are creatives so we would probably just take pictures and record videos downtown of what we see. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First things first…I want to thank God for the talents He has blessed me with. I want to thank my parents for bringing me into the world and allowing me explore various interests in Art. I would also like to give a special shout-out to my college professor Dr. Bowman who really introduced me to video editing and photography in class.

Of course I want to give a shout-out to my friends (Adrian,Danyel,Monte,Rod) just to name a few who not only push me but have also been active in participating in my creations. I want to thank my girlfriend Erica who continues to push me to strive to be the best version of myself daily.

Lastly, i want to thank you…everyone who has watched a video or seen a picture that I have taken. The inspiration comes from the people, the impact I may have on someone and their life.
