We had the good fortune of connecting with Vinicius Melo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vinicius, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was always very aware that a career path wasn’t for me. as a rebellious youth I knew I didn’t want to work for anyone. As a matter of fact I feel as I was lazy. I Track and Field and college and professionally for a while. During college I worked for a detailer in the summers. After hurting my knee I tried different odd jobs and eventually decided I should start Lima Auto Detail from the back of my 1999 corolla. After that things just started happening where month by month it would become more legitimate I eventually rebranded and that was the berth of Overalls Auto Detail.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Overalls Auto Detail is one of my babies. I have been very proud to been able to build this from the ground up and of course there is so much more to do. but it was not an easy road, like ive mentioned before it all started from the back of a 1999 corolla. I figured if I started my own business I wouldn’t have to work as hard as I had been working before for other people. boy was I wrong, I work probably twice as much, however it is extremely pleasurable. once I am interested in something I make sure to research as much as I can about it and try to advance my growth and that is how I got over a lot of hurdles. if I didn’t know how to do something I would simply figure out a way to learn. podcasts and youtube was a big part of this learning process.

About my Brand I would love everyone to understand that we are a brand that focuses mostly on the satisfaction of the customer. we are extremely aware that profit will come if our focus is on the customer/consumer. our brand is really about giving your car or house the spa treatment, while creating a relationship that last with the customer.

Overalls is about service and serving and thats how we want to be of help to not only the customer but the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man this is a fun one. I am so much a home body that I would literally focus on food. our full itinerary would be food, drinks and more food.
I would love to start by visiting some of these amazing downtown areas for some food and day drinking. I think the Roswell and Alpharetta downtown areas have amazing food and bar options for some good fun. of course being from Atlanta id love to introduce my friend some of the night life of Buckhead or Edgewood.

My favorite food place would probably be the last place that we would visit. that is ONE41 in Johns Creek. such an amazing place that has the most lively atmosphere. there is Manager/Server there named Eddie and he will make that experience even better, as if your a celebrity guest.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course! id like to shout out my wife! she has been my rock and my strength. without her I would have never been able to start this business. she made the first push for me to legitimize and actually buy a mobile unit. for some reason she really believes in me hahaha. Overalls is just a stepping stone into many other businesses we want to start and she really woke that up in me. there are many other people that I would like to shout out because they have molded into what I am today but I like doing that personally because that are MANY. However my wife deserves ,out of the recognition for my growth.
