We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Nielsen & Tiffany Wilkes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria Nielsen & Tiffany Wilkes, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Leaning into our true life’s purpose. We both started this business after the birth of our children (Victoria’s oldest, Sebastian, and Tiffany’s youngest, Lennox). And our work is all about giving back to ourselves in a way that makes us better mothers, women, and human beings. When we show our children that we take time to meditate, heal, learn, and grow, it shows them it’s okay for them to do the same. We also always hope they follow their dreams and remember how powerful they are — even if it goes against societies expectations. Our business isn’t traditional, but we know it’s what we’re here to do. Leading by example is the best thing we’ve been able to do for our kids.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Tiffany and Victoria both climbed the corporate ladder in marketing only to realize it wasn’t what fulfilled them. Once they leaned into mindfulness practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, Reiki, and more, they both realized they were connected to something higher, and bigger, then themselves.

Starting Spirit Mamas was a no-brainer once this connection allowed them to see they enjoyed helping others — particularly women — remember the power they hold within. Running a business while raising small children and still working in corporate America has been hard just because of the limited amount of time available, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Once you realize you have a deep passion for something, it’s worth pursuing. Denying the creative spark we all have inside will only allow the deep knowing, and potentially your discontentment, to go stronger.

We’d love to say to anyone reading: Why not YOU? Why not NOW? Whatever dream you have that seems unachievable or far-fetched, what’s stopping you from saying yes? Taking one tiny step a day to make it a reality. We often find that things can actually be even better than we ever thought possible when we take a chance and try.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Krog, Ponce & the Beltline are a must-see. You could literally eat your way around the world and then walk it off in the Atlanta sunshine.

Hell Yeah, Gluten Free! Victoria practically lived off of their cinnamon rolls and baked goods during both pregnancies.

Iberian Pig, Cooks & Soldiers, or any of the Castellucci Group restaurants for Spanish tapas.

The Battery has so many good food choices – Superica & Jeni’s Ice Cream are two favorites – plus awesome bars and gaming spots.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Elevate the Globe, an online kundalini yoga community, deserves a lot of credit for helping us get where we are today. They encouraged Victoria, and the business as a whole, but they also served as a great example of how you can connect women from across the globe virtually. The group of women in the community were also some of our earliest and biggest supporters (they still are)!
