We had the good fortune of connecting with Veniece Newton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veniece, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My life has been focused on community engagement and empowering others through everything that I do . I’ve also had a love for hip hop for as long as I could remember. . @CypherCity allows me to provide a Virtual platform that spotlights lyricists , producers and DJ’s to the world . This fulfills me because it allows me to help others while listening to some really cool music .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve always had this live for hip hop , but more so as listener. . The past few years , I saw the increase of creative talent that just wanted their music to be heard or producers that wanted to be connected to artists . Hence , @cyphercity was born . I’ve had ups and down through this journey and continue to learn each and everyday . Our mission is to help creatives connect creat and collaborate ; and we will continues to do so . .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question. !!!!!!! I’ve been a traveler all of my life documenting great things . In fact , I’m launching a blog called the @VSTARlist , that does exactly this ; so this question is easy for me. . My fave place to eat right now is ROC SOUTH!!!!! OMG!!!! This best dam would food I’ve had in a very long time ; fried catfish , candy yams , mac cheese, collards and sweet tea!!! Imma leave that right there !!!

@ENGAGEathon deserves a shoutout because they are constantly involved in the community and they have helped @cyphercity encourage youth to vote which was a very important mission for us .
