We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Brown Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ty, what principle do you value most?
Breathing on purpose is a value that guides my lifestyle. I focus on breathing because it is life’s first and most precious gift, but one we ironically forget to acknowledge in the haste of living. To use this gift the way God intended brings purpose to our lives.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My day job is as an account manager for a branding and licensing agency. In the role, I oversee two coordinators and consult apparel/non-apparel manufacturers on how to strategically manage and grow their business as a licensee. I also provide recommendations to clients on who to partner with given their unique business requirements and brand objectives.
I am excited because this role has reinforced my understanding of strategic brand management which is important to building a strong identity among heavy competition, while saving time and unnecessary costs. I intend to use this expertise to help others understand how to properly develop their own brand while effectively work with other brands. Be on the lookout for more of this from the Intuitive Licensing Consultancy.
This role comes with the challenge and pleasure of working with large varieties of accounts from start-up to Fortune 500 brands which force you to think across the spectrum to meet unique customer needs. This has afforded me the ability to offer insight no matter what stage of the business life cycle a company may be in. Another challenge faced in the role is the sheer volume of work managing 5,000+ accounts across various other responsibilities which has forced me to become highly organized and priority driven.
Through this role, God has blessed me with the relationships and ability to develop a passion with the clothing brand BreezinBreezout (Breezinout.com) which serves to remind people to breathe in dope fashion. The challenge of balancing this passion with work, among several other endeavors, has been soul satisfying.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best time ever in Atlanta feels like a loaded question haha. One day would consist of taking them to brunch at a spot called Folk Art. Another day would include taking them to The High Musuem or Fernbank (play it by ear). Another day would be used for going to Freedom Park to play games and eat. One night would be used for ordering a dope pizza spot in, likely Slim & Husky’s. Another night would be used to grab drinks at a bar in town followed by going skating. A night of rest would be needed which would be used to order Jamaican or Mexican food in.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Many people, familiar and unfamiliar, breathe into my life to help uplift it to where it is today. Family provided the foundation of what it means to breathe on purpose while friends, colleagues, and mentors lend perspective on how to embrace the unified gift for uniquely impacting others lives.
