Meet Trinity Jackson | Music Composer & Supervising Sound Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trinity, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Statesboro, Georgia. I grew up surrounded by faith, music, and an early love for animation and video games. I didn’t actually start music until late elementary school when I picked up the violin, but I was always a video game nerd—Pokémon and JRPGs were my worlds.
Studio Ghibli also found its way into my childhood, and the quiet, thoughtful themes in those films shaped how I see the world. Those experiences taught me to find beauty in small details, to lead with empathy, and to keep searching for meaning beneath the surface.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’m most excited about is the work still ahead of me. I tend to overplan and imagine the future in vivid detail, and that anticipation fuels my passion. I’m eager to see what opportunities come my way and how I can continue to grow through them.
Professionally, I’ve gotten to where I am through a lot of hard work and trial and error. As a creative, I love exploring many different mediums, and only recently have I begun finding ways to honor each of them while staying true to my deep love for sound and music. That balance is an ongoing journey, but one I’m learning to embrace.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that my opinion matters—every voice, including mine, has something valuable to contribute. Growth comes from trusting yourself, even when the path feels uncertain.
What I want the world to know about me and my story is that, although I’m a perfectionist, I don’t have it all figured out—and that’s okay. In moments of frustration or burnout, I remind myself of something my violin teacher once told me: ‘There is a method to this madness.’

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d want to show them the parts of Atlanta that still resonate with me, even though I haven’t lived there since high school. For me, nothing beats experiencing the city’s energy through live music, so a big part of the week would revolve around catching shows at some of Atlanta’s amazing concert halls—like the Buckhead Theatre or Fox Theatre. I’d also take them to the Woodruff Arts Center to experience the orchestra, which holds a special place in my heart. And of course, a visit to the Georgia Aquarium would be a must to enjoy one of the city’s most unique and beautiful attractions.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, for giving me a foundation of faith, patience, and encouragement, and for always supporting my curiosity—whether it was learning the violin, diving into academics, or disappearing into video game worlds. I’m deeply grateful to my orchestra instructors, whose guidance shaped not just my musicianship, but my discipline, and taught me the power of expression through music. And to my friends, who’ve been steady voices of encouragement, and to artists like Nujabes, Stevie Wonder, Nobuo Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi, and many more, whose music continues to inspire my imagination and remind me that art can be both a refuge and a compass.
