We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevis Von and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevis, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I have one of each.

Fear and God Don’t occupy the same space! -Dick Gregory

This quote means the most to me because it reminds me of my faith and gives encouragement when there doubt.

The mantra for my brand “Gritty Garments” is an affirmation.

Grit: The Stubborn Refusal To Quit.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Gritty Garments LLC, is a not only a clothing brand it’s a lifestyle. Grit, means The Stubborn Refusal To Quit. We appeal to all walks of life so that sets us apart. I’m most proud that We don’t have a demographic! Started from making shirts in a non-ventilated garage to now globally celebrated. Like any other business, We are still growing and facing challenges however we won’t quit!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much culture in Atlanta. I’d love to take my visitors to see the historic sites first and foremost. My favorite brunch spot is Breakfast at Barney’s. Such a down to earth yet upscale restaurant with incredible tasting brunch items. The Coca Cola museum is always one of my favorites as well and kid friendly. As I am a fashion designer, Lennox Mall is a must see especially if you haven’t been but heard about it. I’d love to take them to Skyview Atlanta on the Ferris wheel, I have some amazing photos and memories there. Followed by dinner at Prime on Peachtree.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a dream and passion of mine since I was a little kid from Norfolk, VA. The support and encouragement I receive is beyond words to be honest! I’d first love to Shoutout my business partner and longtime friend, Kenny Willams. When I was pressing t-shirts in my grandmother’s garage he supported and invested into my dream as it was his! Major shoutout to my cousin Miles for the love and support and lending his resources and connections to push the brand forward. I love you man. Some other honorable mentions: June, Hutch,Joe Joe, Nico, Jamma, Kieva, Wimbo, Mike, and my father (Trevis)!
