We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiberia Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiberia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking a risk has a natural fear attached to it. Yet, it has great rewards when you don’t allow the fear to stop you from manifesting the very desires you long to have fulfilled. Risk-taking has thumbprints all over my life and career journey. I will take a risk and IF it isn’t the right move or decision I learn from it. It has helped me to be able to help others in the area of confidence because you have to have a high level of confidence to take risks that make you uncomfortable so that you can grow.

What should our readers know about your business?
How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? Discovering my purpose took me on the journey of where I am today in business. Working for a major tax and accounting firm for over 18 years allowed me to develop skill sets in public speaking, professional training, and adult e-learning content development. Authoring and self-publishing two books “Say I Do To Greatness” and “Sleevin Ain’t Easy-How weight loss surgery changed my life” I found myself in the building of a brand which is “EmergHer Confidence”. After years of saying no to becoming a life coach, I finally gave in and became a certified life and personal development coach this year. My journey to where I am now was no easy road. There were times I had to fight thoughts of “I am not good enough”, and “there are so many people already doing this”. Every thought I had to kill because, I knew there were women out there that needed my voice, my abilities, and skills to help them build or rebuild confidence and emerge.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
The biggest lesson I have learned along the way is to be present in the present and be patient in every process of the journey of building anything. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story? That no matter what challenges, disappointments, or adversity that is faced; it is all for the development of character, discipline, and consistency in pursuing purpose daily. The loss of hearing in both of my ears, morbid obesity, divorce, and childhood trauma was chapters that pushed me to emerge so that I could help other women build or rebuild their confidence from the inside out allowing them to transform how they see themselves without compromising who they are authentically.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I definitely would take them to Kats Cafe in Atlanta for the BEST live music, food, and fun atmosphere. This is a must-go-to spot. Next, I would take them to walk or bike ride the Atlanta beltline this is a very scenic exploration of the city. The next stop is Ponce City Market now this has got to be like the best spots to shop, eat, and just hang out. I have to take them to Slutty Vegan the wait may be a min but it is well worth the wait.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Where do I start… I have an AMAZING support team. Beth “Sprinkles” Goodman is my “Bethal” and “Purpose Twin” she has been with me in my darkest days and my glorious days. She helps me reason and pushing me to emerge whenever I get into a space of wanting to retreat from my purpose. Then there is Dana Bankston… This man is the BEST mentor on this side of heaven. I literally have had to kick and scream all of my career frustrations to him. In those moments he brings me back to my “WHY” as well as supports me in every way he can. Johhny Prince, the BADDEST disc jockey in the ATL, came into my life at a very critical growth moment in my life. He pushes me and fixes my crown so that I always remain top of the line in my brand and business. Last but not least my mom and sisters. These ladies have been in my corner in every business venture and crazy journeys that I have taken a risk in.
