We had the good fortune of connecting with Tianna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tianna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I love taking risks. All of my music is risky. As a Christian Artist, it would’ve been so much easier to just make songs specifically for church services, which is what I started writing for, but I started to feel drawn to making songs that maybe someone just grooves to in the car with the windows down that gives them peace or that someone cries to in their bedroom that gives them hope for their situation. There is beauty in a church or congregation being moved by your song but I personally love the individual stories that come from me releasing this type of music instead of what you hear on CCM radio or in your church!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Afro-Latino singer, songwriter, and worship leader with a blended style that transcends mainstream music genres pulling from Christian Contemporary, Pop, Soul, and Gospel influences. I started by songwriting and worship leading which eventually led to me recently releasing my debut single, “ebb & flow”, which dropped on April 12th, 2024 and is available on all streaming platforms! I will be releasing another single very soon that I am really excited about! I started leading worship at my home church in Delaware at the age of 15. I went to college at Liberty University and led worship there as well. My senior year of college and right after I graduated, I started songwriting for Maverick City Music and Tribl. After 2 years, I decided to start working on my own music which leads to now! The Lord truly ordered my steps because my career fell into place right after school. Of course the day to day basis is hard because there were certain events I wasn’t invited to but I had to really believe that “whatever rooms I’m supposed to be in, I’ll be in.” That statement carried me and I repeated it until i firmly believed it. Being a new artist now surrounded by many successful artists has been kind of hard, but I just have to remember that everything is a process and everyone is running their own race called life. I’m so grateful to be who i am and where I am. I find myself enjoying the process when I reflect on where Jesus has brought me from. This is only the beginning for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OMG what a fun question. I would definitely take her to walk on the Beltline every single day! We’d walk the Beltline and then go to Ponce City Market to grab H&F burgers one day. We’d have to get Hawkers for dinner atleast one time that she’s here (that is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta). We’d go to Puttshack one night because the vibes are amazing and who doesn’t love mini golf? Rreal Tacos would be our dinner one of the nights. And we’d probably hit up Morelli’s Ice Cream multiple times while she’s here. If i’m honest, all I do is eat out here in Atlanta so i’d just bring her along to all of my different spots!

I want to thank Jesus. He has been my rock, my best friend, my confidante, my help, my peace, my everything. If it wasn’t for Him, I’d be absolutely nothing.
