Meet Tia Arnold | Photographer, Notary, Officiant, and Travel Clerk

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tia, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I believe in prayer, honesty, and hardwork. Those are also the things I instilled in my daughter’s that are now 23 and 18. I taught them the word no , on both sides. Meaning you can’t be spoiled because someone is going to tell you no, and it’s ok for you to tell others no. I raised them up in church and i made sure that my character around them was something they could mimic. I made sure to raise them with love and not survival. The most important thing I did was raise them realistically and not in a fairytale world. I didnt expose them to trauma but I did show them that everything is not always great

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a photographer I pride myself on trying new things. The teens always have a photo a new idea I’ve never tried and I am always willing to accept the challenge. Photography is never easy because for me since I don’t do it full time my availability is sometimes a challenge. The lessons I have learned are to ask questions and dont be afraid to try something new. Whether it be a new technique, different lighting, the scenery, or the people.
I want people to know I run a faith based business. A lot of my proceeds from photography fund a Church Conference I hold each year called S2S ( struggle tp strength).

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would walk downtown, and the riverwalk. We would eat at charred oak, Magellan, the loft, and your pie. We would have drinks and eat while playing the gift simulator at the sand trap. We would visit the wine bar Flora. Go sit out side at the Goetchius house eat and listen to the live band. We would tour the museums.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughters Taylor and Tamia for being my biggest supporters. My parents, family, and friends for always pushing me the extra mile. My mentor Cedric Searcy whether he knows it or not. He is always available to answer my questions if need be and provides a nicely supplied studio for photographers to rent. He is one of the best photographers in town. My pastor/brother Ernest he is going to push me right out of doubt each time
