We had the good fortune of connecting with Tayonne Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tayonne, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Well, I knew a long time ago that my hands are gifted. I always thought I would be a Cosmetologist. But then I didn’t like the inconsistency. That’s when I decided to go to culinary school and became a Chef. And now I also have a love for resin art. I love to be creative and when my customers have a smile on their face when they have the finished product makes my heart happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Simply put turning epoxy resin into art. The biggest thing that sets us apart is that we want the art to be functional while maintaining its artistic integrity. We made a lot of really cool pieces some of the coolest, being the dominoes, chess set even the vanity sets we’ve made.

We’ve gotten as far as we have with hard work, and a love for art. Nothing worth it is ever easy, when things weren’t working with the first plan we would just revise. Sometimes being in business is about knowing how to move on your feet.

One of the biggest lessons I think that I’ve learned as a business owner is to support those who support me. Not to say that they have to come and spend tons of money but you know who really believes in your vision and who doesn’t and you have to really appreciate the people who believe in your vision.

The one thing I’d like for the world to know about my brand my vision is that while Art is always growing and breathing, let it be functional let it be fun let it be colorful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would go to La Parilla Mexican restaurant and drink margaritas. I don’t go out much so we would definitely go to my house a sing some karaoke and fire up the hookah.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I would like to thank my mom Henrietta Berry and dad Xavier Carter for the positive influence they put into my life. And next to my wife Daphne Taylor for believing in me and my dreams. Also to my daughter Felicia Taylor for being my support staff and helping spread the word.
