We had the good fortune of connecting with Taia Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taia, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Enterpnuership has provided me the opportunity to learn my children’s love language and learning style. With this valuable understanding, I have learned new ways of connecting with them and myself. Their natural talents have flourished because the time that I spend with them is more intentional. I see continued growth in their academics and wellness. I quit my former job and started my business during the pandemic after evaluating my family’s well-being. I realized they felt the impact of a mother trying to balance it all. I had to let go of obligations to gain peace with myself and my family.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The goal of my art is to manifest the essence of love with each design and interaction. I have been establishing myself as an artist for one year now. Painting was always a hobby or a therapeutic practice. In many ways, this is new to me professionally. I’m proud that I released my very first art collection, The Queen Collection. I have ten acrylic and vinyl paintings inspired by past and present influential people. The hardest part was starting! I spent too much time in my head criticizing my art. The most beautiful art is messy and imperfect! I’m learning how to keep myself inspired and creative. Infusing yoga and nature with my artistry have taught me how to stay light-hearted and playful. I also share my growth with my community so this is a service that I will be adding. The use of Yoga and Art to manifest love with yourself and others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a hard one because I am always on the go! When I get free you can find me outside in a secluded area. If my bestie was coming to Cartersville she would need to bring her hiking shoes, water, and yoga mat. We would have an old fashion conversation and yoga session on Red Top Mountain. First, I would get a smoothie at my favorite local Cafe Sundae. If you stop by make sure you get the blueberry smoothie! Now that I’m vegan, I enjoy preparing my meals so dinner and laughter would be at my house. A good time can take place anywhere with the right vibe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a community of supportive people. Each individual plays a critical role in my success. Support is a verb my cousin Alisha has actively supported my growth. When I wanted to jump off the edge! My Husband Quincy has been my rock. Teachings from my childhood have helped sustain my focus, so much love to my mother! Her influence gives me the confidence to be my genuine self. My stubborn father pushed me to try new avenues that I rejected. I appreciate everyone that actively supports me as I grow and develop.
