We had the good fortune of connecting with Stranger Company and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stranger Company, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
There are many ways to succeed or ‘make it’ in the music industry. Some artists search for a record deal, others strive for the chance to be a touring act with an entertainment label and many musicians seek popularity through social media platforms. All of these artists would agree that ‘success in the music industry’ amounts to the artist’s ability to create the music that matters most to them and their followers. Creative freedom is the foundation of every successful artist’s story.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creating original music is one of the most rewarding challenges we have the privilege of experiencing. Not a single facet of what we do is easy – writing, recording, performing – but we never think in those terms. Artistic creation is an inherently electric and exciting aspect of the human experience and the process is one we truly enjoy. We’re different from most bands in that we have no script. We rely on the authenticity of our intentions to draw people into our little musical world – our intentions being to make honest music for honest people. This is the mindset we take into the recording studio as we prepare to release a rich catalog of original music in 2025.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is abundant in community and creativity. Looking for the finest blues and jazz musicians in the city? Go see Gordon Vernick at the Red Light Cafe on Wednesday nights, Cody Matlock at Blind Willie’s on Friday nights and Barry Richman anywhere on any night. Looking for a place to kick back and watch college football? Go spend a Saturday afternoon on the back porch at Three Dollar Cafe. Looking for a place to hang out on Sunday? Check out Atlanta Discount Music. The list goes on and on.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’re thankful to every venue owner and booking agent that has ever taken a chance on us. There are a million rock ‘n’ roll bands-for-hire in the world and we couldn’t be more grateful to the people who have provided a home for our music and our followers. Also – we have to thank Jerry Garcia. He set the original example for working musicians and we’re doing our best to follow in his footsteps.
