Meet Shariya Jones | Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shariya Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shariya, how do you define success?
To me, success is simply walking in the purpose God gave me. It’s being part of something bigger than myself and using my gifts to make a real impact. Becoming an esthetician has opened the door for me to meet amazing women and create a space where beauty and faith naturally come together.
Success isn’t just about doing services well—it’s about serving with heart. It’s those moments when someone leaves feeling lighter, more confident, or spiritually encouraged. If I can pour into someone’s life while helping them feel beautiful inside and out, that’s success in my eyes.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Gracious Glo is a faith-based beauty studio where beauty and faith meet. What sets my business apart is the atmosphere. I want every woman who comes in to feel cared for, uplifted, and confident, both inside and out.
I’m proud of the community that’s formed around Gracious Glo. Seeing women leave feeling restored and encouraged is the heart of what I do. The journey wasn’t easy, from balancing motherhood, starting a business, and overcoming fear took time and faith. But trusting the purpose God placed on my heart helped me push through every challenge.
I’ve learned to trust God’s timing, stay consistent, and celebrate small beginnings. What I want people to know is that Gracious Glo is more than just beauty services it’s a purpose-driven space created to inspire, empower, and remind women of their God-given glow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure we had a mix of relaxation, adventure, good food, and meaningful moments. We’d start our mornings with a nice, intimate homemade breakfast, then head out for something fun—maybe a spa day or even indoor skydiving for a little thrill.
For lunch, we’d swing by Publix to grab our favorite subs and fresh fruit, then head downtown for a picnic where we could catch up and simply enjoy God’s creation while spending time outdoors. In the afternoons, we might chill, take a stroll, or catch a movie to unwind.
In the evenings, I’d make sure we got dressed up and went to Roc South Cuisine in Brookhaven for some incredible soul food—it’s the perfect spot to savor good food and good conversation. If our visit included a Sunday, we’d go to 2819 Church to worship and spend some time in a spirit-filled, uplifting service.
It would be a week full of laughter, adventure, great food, and moments that feed the soul—showing my friend the best of what I love and value in my city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I originally stepped into this industry after having my daughter, Mariah. She inspired me to create a life where I could build my own schedule and be present for her. What I didn’t expect was how God would later save me and place it on my heart to turn this into a faith-based business. So my biggest shoutout goes to my daughter, Mariah Skye, who sparked this journey, and to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave it purpose. Without them, Gracious Glo wouldn’t exist.
