We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharidyn Barnes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharidyn, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I personally feel like discipline is the biggest key to success. If you lack discipline it will be difficult to reach your end goal. It can be something as simple as doing work daily or trying to create good habits for yourself, every little decision counts.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am for the most part right now proud of me finishing and getting my degree. I feel like that is a great accomplishment at a time like this with all the things going on in the world. I enjoy the fact that I am just finishing. No, it has not been easy at all, but I tried to take it day by day. I think that the biggest lessons I have learned is learning when to say no. Like say no! or least make sure you are getting paid for your labor and time. Do not let people exploit you or take advantage of you ever! it is not right, if you start to feel that its best to say no to protect your own mental space.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I would probably hit up a good wing place. I have been back and forth visiting ATL and SAV and I love wings and soul food. Also Atlanta Breakfast Club is the best! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I feel like my parents deserve the most love and support. My family is extremely important to me and have been supporting me financially. I want to be able to give back to them. I have nothing but the highest respect for my parents. You never know how blessed you are until you go out into this world.
