We had the good fortune of connecting with Shante Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shante, how do you think about risk?
I think taking risk bring a balance to life. If you don’t take risk I believe you wouldn’t know rewards in the lesson that life brings us. Risk played a big role in my career. When I was in my profession as a RN and felt close to burn out and that I needed something different, I took a leap of faith from a secure job to creating my own company. I see it as faith, but others may see it as a risk.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Simply Naked Candle Co does not just sell candles we help our customers create memories from the experiences we provide. What sets us apart is the candle making experience we provide for any special occasion from team building to date night with special decor and candlelight dinner. Getting where we are today has taking a lot of hard work, late nights researching and testing for quality and networking with already successful business owners. Lessons along the way are if you don’t know learn, and network. Simply Naked Candle Co is named so, because we don’t add anything to our candles and they are eco-friendly.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course first stop Simply Naked Candle Co, and Corks and Cuvée for wine while taking our BYOB candle experience, while in Conyers. Then over to Atlanta to good eats at Slutty Vegan and Local Green. Check out the Village in Ponce City Market, the Zoo, Apex Museum and MLK Center. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
