We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Rachel Fesiuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah Rachel, can you tell us what you are most passionate about?
When it comes to films, we are very passionate about showing the beauty of natural elements such as nature surrounding the story. We want others to feel and see the authenticity of emotions captured behind the lens. Every living being has a story to tell, an experience to share, and those stories and experiences can ultimately be the inspiring message to help another along the way in this journey called life. So, we are passionate about positively influencing the lives of others through these elements, through real and raw, sometimes painful but true, uplifting messages.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets us apart in our company is the amount of effort and tenacity we put into each project we get. We care way more about quality per project than some, so we limit our projects to put the time needed to perfect each one. As of recently, we are super proud of a couple of film projects that has come our way. We know if we had not worked as hard as we did in creating an authentic brand that was different from the rest, we might not have been noticed. Fesiuk Films has been alive for 4 years now and although, we are proud of how fast we have grown in such a short period of time, it most certainly was not always easy getting there. Let’s say, for a long time, it was long days and long nights working with very small paychecks, living not much of a luxurious life. The biggest lesson I have learned along the way, mistakes I have seen too many people make that we could have making ourselves, is stop the comparison game. Find what is “you” in your brand or art. Stop looking around and do what you are good at doing. Note-able message to the world: “Nothing is truly impossible if you try, but remember to live your life while you go out accomplishing these things. This life we are living is very limited to years and days and there are just some things that have more value than money before you die.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is kind of a hard question to answer. Our city and surrounding towns have so many sweet hole-in-the-wall spots… how do you possibly choose? Haha. Of course, our first stop would be Asheville(our hometown) and we would probably take them to get sushi at Wasabi restaurant. After dinner, we would have to walk pretty much every street for a load of awesome shopping options from clothing to home knickknacks, grab a soy latte at Old Europe, then head downtown where they have local bands, local art in tents, and a pretty sweet park to retreat and settle into a great conversation. Eventually, we would walk back into town and we could head to pretty much any and many different local breweries and cocktail bars, but one of our favorites would be the Antidote at Chemist Spirits and the vibe inside is so classic, yet, chic. We just loved the people there and the feel inside. On top of all the amazing food and drinks we have in Asheville, we would have to say the miles and miles of mountain hiking would be all over our weekly itinerary. Maybe every other day after a good days hike, we would pick another neat town close to Asheville, walk the small city, grab some good food, and another warm drink. =)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout-out may be a little unusual to some, but I would love to give the shout-out to my Creator and Heavenly Father, who gave me the life I have lived and I am living today. If I had not gone through and had been delivered from certain experiences in this life, I know my heart and my mind would not be where it is today. My husband who also, co-owns, produces, and directs in our company, would definitely agree with me here. There is none other who has greatly influenced and guided us as much as He has in this life.
